Jared completed a 4 year residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. While at Rush, he not only was part of an infectious disease research team but also served as Vice President of the House Staff Association.
Jared received his M.D. from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, training primarily at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. There he cultivated a passion for clinical excellence and compassionate, patient-centered care. He was actively involved in the American Medical Association (AMA) Medical Student Section and the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA) and enjoyed volunteering at a local retirement community and serving local refugee families.
Jared is a graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI, and studied Spanish and Psychology. Apart from studying abroad in 4 countries, Jared served as Student Body President and led the Student Senate.
Dr. Rispens has experienced the healthcare field around the world; studying Traditional Chinese Medicine in Shanghai, conducting an ethnographic study in a maternity ward in Tegucigalpa Honduras, and observing witch doctors in the Amazon jungle of Ecuador. During his residency he served on a medical missions team in Haiti. He most recently was deployed to Ethiopia for the Polio eradication effort.
